Hello! Here’s a little Valentine’s Day themed Thrifty Thursday. I picked up this vintage 60′s dress for only $20 (you may remember it from a few weeks back) and thought it would be really cute for today with some red tights and a red hair bow. Notice something different? I finally got new glasses! I ordered these from Warby Parker and could’t be more pleased. As someone who usually wears my contacts everyday, it’s been nice to make the switch to these a few days a week.
I need to get to packing. I’m heading off for the weekend with some friends and I’m very excited! A much needed break. Have a lovely day and weekend!
I love vintage valentines. While I don’t own any (I really shouldn’t start another collection), I really enjoy admiring them in vintage shops and online. They are much different from the boxed sets of valentines I used to pick out as a kid. Here’s some images from around the internet that I adore (and one by me!).

I bought this corduroy jumper for $10 at No Relation Vintage in the East Village in New York. I highly recommend checking it out! It was really inexpensive and there were some great pieces. I only checked out the first floor but there’s a basement too which I plan on exploring one day. I also found a really adorable baby blue dress with a white peter pan collar and buttons, but it had a few too many stains for me to take it home.

I mentioned on Tuesday that I had some exciting news. Well… I’m going to have some items in the Vagabondia Vintage Pop Up shop! It’s located at 1028 Washington Street in Hoboken, NJ (across from Maxwell’s). It officially opens tomorrow and will be there for the rest of the month. If you’re in the area, be sure to check it out for some great vintage and handmade gifts!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the US!
Today I am thankful for my family, friends and health as well as some exciting things for my etsy shop. I’ve been absent from the blog for the past few weeks because I’ve been preparing for my very first craft show. It’s the Happy Holiday Craft Fair in Jersey City, NJ on December 1st! I also have two items on the BlogBuyAndSale Christmas Wish List. It’s full of great items from independent artists and designers.
These photos were taken last weekend at the park near my house. I went there to take some outfit photos by my favorite trees… not expecting that they would be ripped out of the ground and laying on their side from Hurricane Sandy. The trees almost didn’t look real, like it was a movie set or something. It made me really sad and even more thankful for what I have.

Now on to the thrifty part of this Thrifty Thursday post… This vintage cardigan was thrifted in Philadelphia for $10. It’s got a lot of great details with the flowers, pom poms and the buttons. It’s also really thick and warm (and maybe just a little itchy).

Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying today with people they love and eating tons of delicious food!

As I’m writing this post, it’s snowing! Just more crazy weather here in New Jersey. I actually listened to Christmas music on my way home from work today! How is it a week into November already? Anyway, these pictures were taken over the weekend when it still looked and felt like autumn. I thrifted both the sweater and jumper. The jumper is from the warehouse I mentioned a little while back in Philadelphia. I bought it for about $10. It needed a cleaning and some altering because it was a bit too wide. The sweater was $20 and bought in Brooklyn. It’s cashmere and oh so soft. I’ve been wanting to add more sweaters into my closet with high necklines… perfect for layering and collars!

Since my job was closed all last week from the storm, I was able to work a lot on items for my etsy. I added some Christmas ornaments and new collars into my shop. Go have a look!

I found this vintage dress in a thrift shop in Brooklyn for $20 a few weeks ago. It’s wool, has a zipper down the front and a wonderful burgundy velvet peter pan collar and tie. The silhouette reminds me of some kind of uniform. I added a patent belt and flats, and my trusty black tights for a perfect dinner date outfit in this cool weather. I apologize for the quality of these photos (it was already dark outside)

I decided to make a video for this weeks Thrifty Thursday! See some of my recent finds (and me being awkward).

I bought this cape last weekend and it has quickly become one of my favorite vintage pieces. I saw it over the summer at a vintage store, decided I couldn’t spend the money and then spent the following months thinking about it/ looking on etsy for something similar. So I was extremely happy to see it was still where I left it at the shop. It’s dead stock, from the 70′s and reversible!

I wore this for a day in Brooklyn with a friend. Thrifting, cafes, the park, best burrito I’ve ever eaten (tofo burrito at Calexico), a bar and a show- it was a busy but fun day!
