Hello! Here’s a little Valentine’s Day themed Thrifty Thursday. I picked up this vintage 60′s dress for only $20 (you may remember it from a few weeks back) and thought it would be really cute for today with some red tights and a red hair bow. Notice something different? I finally got new glasses! I ordered these from Warby Parker and could’t be more pleased. As someone who usually wears my contacts everyday, it’s been nice to make the switch to these a few days a week.
I need to get to packing. I’m heading off for the weekend with some friends and I’m very excited! A much needed break. Have a lovely day and weekend!

Hello! Here’s a little recap of my weekend in Wildwood. But first- my outfit! I purchased the top from the warehouse I mentioned in last weeks post. It was $8 and from the 1960′s. I absolutely adore it. It’s red and white gingham print, with a collar and lace detail down the front. Unfortunately it has some holes which I mended, but they opened up again after I wore it. I think I will keep mending it until I can’t anymore. I didn’t notice the holes in the warehouse and I’m glad that I didn’t because I might not have bought it.

It was a freak October day weather wise- around 70 or 80 degrees during the day. Some people were even swimming! We woke up early and spent the day walking around and up and down the boardwalk… and eating lots of junk food! I’m kind of embarrassed to tell you what my diet consisted of that day but here it goes: french toast, pumpkin and cinnamon custard, old bay fries with cheese sauce, a primo hoagie and a pumpkin funnel cake.
The boardwalk has a Halloween event but I was too chicken to go. I backed out last year too! I liked these decorations though.
In the evening we went to Cape May to go on a haunted trolley tour- basically they drive you around and tell you stories about ghosts in certain houses and hotels. I love stuff like that but it was a bit corny! It was enjoyable though. We walked through the shops and walked around town before. There are so many beautiful Victorian homes there I wish I could live in.
It got really cold at night. After heading back to Wildwood and playing some more arcade games, we rented a silly horror movie to watch. The next morning it was freezing and raining. I had hoped to shoot some more pictures and go bike riding but it was breakfast and back home instead!

Over the weekend I went to Bulk Vintage, a vintage warehouse in Philadelphia. It was so wonderful! I spent 2 and a half hours digging through boxes and looking through racks. If you live near Philadelphia, I highly recommend it!
This skirt is very thick, perfect for the cooler weather! I tried it, it fit perfectly and I had to get it. In total, I bought 2 skirts, 2 tops, a cardigan, a jumper and a dress for about $70 (the skirt was $10). I think that’s pretty amazing for some great pieces. I just have to alter and mend a few things. I’m sure they will all be making appearances on the blog in the near future but there’s a sneak peak at the end of this post.

This is the dress I mentioned last week that I found for $5 at the Ocean Grove Flea Market. I thought I was going to have to take the shoulders in a bit and hem it, but when I tried it on again and belted it I decided it was unneccesary. I actually liked the longer length. This dress is so perfect for fall and will be getting a lot of wear.

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday! I’m currently eating a red, white and blue cupcake and waiting for the fireworks to come on tv. I was out earlier in the day at Asbury Park. Walked the boardwalk, got a smoothie and played pinball. Silverball pinball museum is great. My boyfriend and I go every time we’re in the area. He got his third high score today! I’m still working on getting one…
I put together a festive outfit of red, white and blue. I really love this wall. These painted birds are great!

I could really get used to having Wednesday off… a little mid work week break is great. It feels like a weekend though so I’m sure I’ll keep thinking tomorrow is Monday!

I rarely come home empty handed when I go thrifting. I think I feel the need to buy something (even something small like a scarf or pin) so I don’t feel like the trip was a waste. I picked up a few small handkerchiefs this past weekend not really knowing how I’d use them. To my surprise, I worked them into quite a few of my regular hair styles. These are two of my favorites. These are both super simple but I think it adds a nice touch to an otherwise boring outfit! First up, just tied around a high messy bun!
Second, clipped underneath my hair and braided into a low side braid.
I also think these look really cute tied around a regular pony tail or a half up half down pony tail. I think I’ll be adding more to my collection.

I said I was obsessed with mint! I picked up this vintage dress last summer at my favorite vintage shop and this is my first time wearing it. It was hand made for a wealthy girl in the 50′s. The details of the collar are so perfect and unique. I love it so much.

I found some great 45 records at the record shop and decided to hang them on my wall! This was a really quick project. Just measured and put some tacks into the wall to rest the records on. I love how it turned out.
