I bought this blue floral dress at Good Will for about $7. The top is a recent purchase from Macy’s. Spring is close so that means my closet is filling up with pastels. I really love how these two pieces look layered together! Don’t be fooled by these pictures. It’s still freezing here but I felt the need to photograph this outfit outside. Looks like we should be getting some 50 degree weather in the forecast after some snow tomorrow. Fingers crossed it keeps getting warmer from here on out.

This weeks Thrifty Thursday features this floral romper that I found at Good Will for $8. It was a perfect fit and definitely has a 90′s vibe. I love it. I can’t wait for warmer days so I can wear it bare legged with a denim jacket. I think I’ve given up on outfit photos outside until we have spring weather so these bedroom photos will have to do. Side note: I am obsessed with Summer Sweetheart lipgloss from the Mac Archies Collection. It’s a lovely peachy pink and the packaging is perfect. I could kick myself for not picking up an extra one. Seems it’s sold out online and the stores I’ve checked.

Hello! Here’s a little Valentine’s Day themed Thrifty Thursday. I picked up this vintage 60′s dress for only $20 (you may remember it from a few weeks back) and thought it would be really cute for today with some red tights and a red hair bow. Notice something different? I finally got new glasses! I ordered these from Warby Parker and could’t be more pleased. As someone who usually wears my contacts everyday, it’s been nice to make the switch to these a few days a week.
I need to get to packing. I’m heading off for the weekend with some friends and I’m very excited! A much needed break. Have a lovely day and weekend!

I’ve had this chambray jumper for a while now but never wore it. Every time I put it on with something, it didn’t feel right. I don’t know why I didn’t try pairing it with this bow blouse before. Added a pop of color with these burnt orange tights and layered on my trusty tan cardigan.

Ahoy! I love this sweater. I picked it up off the sale rack from Forever 21. I love the nautical feel and the little sailor collar on the back. And it’s really comfy! Took these pictures by the lake and dreaming of the ocean. Is anyone else missing summer?
I never got a chance to do a recap post of 2012. I’m definitely hoping to make 2013 a better year for the blog though. I have a tripod now so outfit posts can be better and more frequent. I also have a bunch of DIYs I plan on posting. I definitely want to push myself to learn and try new things when it comes to my crafting. Also, Thrifty Thursday will be returning… kind of got set aside these past few weeks or so.
Well, I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I’m working on organizing all of my craft and sewing supplies. I’ll be posting the results when I’m done!

I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday! Sorry for the blogging break. I’ve been super busy lately! I’m hoping to be able to post regularly again soon. I received a tripod today and had some fun trying it out.

It has gotten so cold here! I went into the city on Saturday and even though I wore so many layers, I was freezing! I should have brought my scarf and gloves. It was a really fun day though. Vegan lunch and shopping in the East Village (scored a few items at Urban Outfitters with their 50% off all sale deal and a $10 vintage jumper that I’ll be sharing soon), donut pub, pommes frites, movies to see Argo, and browsed the Union Square holiday shops.
I picked up this skirt at the J Crew outlet last year when I was supposed to be doing Christmas shopping for others. I really love the colors in it. I paired it with a peter pan collar sweater, boyfriend cardigan (not really pictured), tights, over the knee socks, boots, coat and hat! I told you, lots of layers!
By the way, could you tell I started watching Game of Thrones last week?

As I’m writing this post, it’s snowing! Just more crazy weather here in New Jersey. I actually listened to Christmas music on my way home from work today! How is it a week into November already? Anyway, these pictures were taken over the weekend when it still looked and felt like autumn. I thrifted both the sweater and jumper. The jumper is from the warehouse I mentioned a little while back in Philadelphia. I bought it for about $10. It needed a cleaning and some altering because it was a bit too wide. The sweater was $20 and bought in Brooklyn. It’s cashmere and oh so soft. I’ve been wanting to add more sweaters into my closet with high necklines… perfect for layering and collars!
Since my job was closed all last week from the storm, I was able to work a lot on items for my etsy. I added some Christmas ornaments and new collars into my shop. Go have a look!

Hello internet! Things are slowly but surely starting to feel normal again. Hurricane Sandy was scary and horrible. My job was closed all last week, I lost power for two days and the internet/ cable for a week and honestly, I feel so lucky. My home was undamaged and no one I know was harmed. So many people had/have it worse and it makes me so sad to think of that and see all of the devastation. Please donate or help in anyway you can.
I feel kind of silly posting an outfit now but here it goes… These were taken a few weeks ago. Can you tell I had no idea what to call this post? I like this color combination a lot. Mustard and wine. Doesn’t sound like a good food combination though, does it?
Outfit details: everything I’m wearing is a few years old. Dress: Target, Top: Zara, Boots: Urban Outfitters

I found this vintage dress in a thrift shop in Brooklyn for $20 a few weeks ago. It’s wool, has a zipper down the front and a wonderful burgundy velvet peter pan collar and tie. The silhouette reminds me of some kind of uniform. I added a patent belt and flats, and my trusty black tights for a perfect dinner date outfit in this cool weather. I apologize for the quality of these photos (it was already dark outside)
